The Gordon Research Seminar on Alcohol and the Nervous System is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas. The GRS will also feature opportunities for professional and career development, including a mentorship component focused on career options outside of tenure-track academia. This meeting will focus on the factors which contribute to alcohol vulnerability across model systems and species, from cell culture to humans. Junior scientists will share innovative and unpublished work with their peers, examining the effects of genetic, pharmacological, and environmental components to drive alterations in alcohol-related behavior and physiology.
